Please follow these best practices as you embark on your equipment sharing adventure.
Do right by each other
It’s really that simple. In the context of equipment sharing, this process begins with an owner offering a piece(s) of equipment that is ready for your job site and ends with a renter returning that piece(s) of equipment or the owner offering pickup of their equipment. If something happens along the way, we trust that the responsible party will stand up and resolve the issue since Eqpme holds no responsibility for damages or losses.
Make sure your profile communicates who you are and includes a clear profile picture and your name. Remember that listings are for you alone and if someone else wants to operator your piece(s) of equipment on Eqpme, they need to have a Eqpme-approved account. Describe and photograph your piece(s) your equipment so that renters are clear on what you’re offering. Renters should never tamper with, abuse, or misuse the piece(s) of equipment booked through the Eqpme marketplace.
Keep it clean
We don’t just mean the piece(s) of equipment, but also how you treat each other. It’s okay to disagree, just keep it civil and productive, especially when picking up and dropping off the piece(s) of equipment. If the owner or renter has a concern, discuss it with mutual respect. Most unpleasant conversations can be prevented by keeping the piece(s) of equipment clean, full of fuel, well maintained, used in a respected manner and otherwise ready at pickup and return.
Tidy up loose ends
While most trips end as soon as vendors get their piece(s) of equipment and key back, you may still need to square up fuel, and/or even damage after the rental experience is over. Promptly let the other party know that something’s amiss, and try to resolve the matter quickly.
Obey the law
Owners are responsible for ensuring their piece(s) of equipment complies with all applicable regulatory laws and renters are expected to comply with all operating laws.
And one last thing…
